Beauty. Romance. Power. It’s all in the eye of the BEHOLDER.
At last, Elea has found the love of her life. Unfortunately, the evil Tsar Viktor is about to unleash an army of twisted mages bent on killing everyone Elea cares about… including the man who’s stolen her heart.
So what’s a powerful witch to do? Why, organize a league of magical warriors, of course!
Elea recruits and trains a fighting force to take down the Tsar. That’s challenge enough, but on the eve of battle, Elea realizes that her true enemies may be far more powerful than even Viktor: The deities Oni and Yuri could be out to destroy her as well. With major battles brewing on two fronts, Elea’s not sure that she’ll win, but with true love to inspire her, she’s certainly ready to fight.

Top ten favorite paranormal creatures

As part of the launch tour for my new book CROWNED, the folks at Jazzy Book Reviews have asked me to list my top ten favorite paranormal creatures. So without further ado, here goes:

10. The freaky-deaky aliens in ALIEN
Yes, I’m talking about the movie and no, those aliens aren’t exactly paranormal per se. But their design is CRAZY awesome. Thanks for the nightmares, H R Giger!

9. Any elf drawn by Alan Lee
Lee did all the design work for the Lord of the Rings movies. Why? He created the besest-estest drawings of elves out there, period. If you haven’t seen his stuff, GOOGLE IT.

8. Dragons
I am totally obsessed with dragons. There’s a quote by Joseph Campbell which goes: “Dragons hoard two things—gold and virgins—and they don’t know what to do with either of them.” I’ve met many real life dragons who meet Campbell’s description, so I love reading (and writing!) about ones that break the mold.

7. Demons
Specifically, I like exploring the gray area between demon and angel. Fun times.

6. Ghosts
I like reading a good ghost story but not writing one. Not yet, anyway! Give me time…

5. Shifters
Shifters are awesome and I have some in my Fairy Tales of the Magicorum Series. It’s cool to research the different animals and how they relate to their human hosts. I have mine talk to their humans because, why not?

4. Magic Users
There’s magic in all the three series I’ve written so far: Beholder, Angelbound, and Fairy Tales of the Magicorum. That said, te most developed magic is in the Beholder Series, which is why in the book it gets spelled magic-with-a-k.

3. Angels
For the same reason as demons. More fun times.

2. Grimm’s Fairy Tale Stuff
It’s got fairies in the name, so I’m counting it as a separate category of paranormal. I mean, talking frogs and chicks who use their hair as a means of transportation? Classic.

1. All that Greco-Roman Stuff
But mostly Athena. Because she’s just that badass.

Thanks for the blog love, Jazzy Book Reviews! See you at the next launch!
